Stain Glass Window Restoration
Steps of Precedure First we will look at the issues such as water damage, building settling issues that crack or bow the glass, lead issues, window frame structure, and cracked glass. The next step will be removing the stain glass from the frame, transporting the glass to fix, restoring the window framework if needed, then placing a temporary cover over the window hole. In the shop we will then carefully lay the stain glass down on a flat surface, mark every piece of glass, then remove all lead lines from glass. The glass will be placed in proper order and then the lead will be replaced and soldered carefully back together, then mudded to stiffen the windows The windows then will transported, installed, properly vented, then water sealed. |
